How to Prepare Your Jewelry for Appraisal

Whether you just inherited a family heirloom piece or you’re selling your jewelry for financial reasons, see the tips below to help you prepare your jewelry for the appraisal process:

  • Ensure to discuss the cost of the evaluation before the appraisal
  • Please bring along any diamond reports from the GIA or AGS if you have them.
  • Bring any other official documentation that came with the original purchase of the piece, such as receipts, previous appraisals, or warranties.
  • Provide the appraiser with the purpose of the appraisal. Our team could better advise anything else required.
  • List down any information you have on the piece, such as the previous owner and where they lived
  • Ensure to get an appraisal in writing for official documentation of the results.
